Free Trade Vs. Fair Trade
Activity 2 - Video Critique
This video was quite lengthly, however it proposed some very good and valid points, some I was unaware of.
I had never considered envrionment detriment or that of public health services. It did affirm prior knowledge about trade that I already had, with regards to farmers recieving way less for their crops than they should. I also like the video because it offers real world examples and one gets the point of view of people who are actually going through these situations. The example of the North American Trade
I believe this video will be a helpful revision guide for me in future, and I can also clearly distinguish between Free Trade and Fair Trade. Fair Trade was introduced as meas of helping producers to attain better prices for their exports so that their livelihood is maintained while Free Trade is a policy that countries' governments implement and means they do not restrict imports from, or exports to, other countries.
