 Video Critique: Water Facts

The water facts document is a good source for the unit onwater because it provides plenty of statistics which can be used when providing examples. I learned a lot of new facts about water usage that can be generalized. Its always good to have such facts on deck.

I learned some very intersting new facts about water usage such as:

1. The ice on Kilimanjaro has shrunk 85% in 100 years.

2. The Aral sea is one tenth the size it was 50 years ago.

 Projected Water Scarcity

The map above depicts the projected water scarcity of the worlds water sources in 2025. The hardest hit by economic water scarcity is Africa and South America. There few instances of physical water scarcity in Northern Africa, which is understandable as that is the desert region.  Australia, which is also a dry/arid region will be affected by economic water scarcity. Europe and North America are hardly hit by water scarcity of any kind, as will countries such as Russia. Physical water scarcity will hit the southern asian countries and the Middle East as well.
